Journalling +New Beginnings 2025

Celebrating the new year is always special to me. Planning my days, weeks and months is a natural relaxing thing to do, I look forward to this time every year. Winter’s mood invites us to slow down, reflect and dream. In the quiet interlude of winter our visions take shape. Just doing nothing is probably the most important thing you can do because it is in stillness, silence and relaxation that our best work is born. Be present in listening to your inner thoughts, ponder the images and dreams that keep coming up and journal on these so you can connect the messages to your path and plans. As Spring is surely to follow winter, your revelations from the beauty of journalling will burst into bloom adding more freedom, abundance and gratitude to your life. Welcome to 2025, this is YOUR year.

Creating an Abundant Life

An abundant life happens effortlessly when you are in harmony with the seasons and yourself. Savouring cozy days journaling on snowy white pages illuminates your purpose and creates a path to the future you envision. I’ve been journalling since I was 12 years old and all I can tell you is it works. Over the years when things became more stressful at work or home I neglected this necessary self care ritual. Journalling leaves you with all the glowing possibilities while quietly enjoying writing down your dreams, goals and aspirations. I thought I would share my process that helped me get back to daily journalling. It took quite a while for me to get there (9 months!) So don’t be hard on yourself and don’t give up if you miss days, weeks, or months, when it feels good to you put your ideas and thoughts to paper.

Moments of Joy

I started writing about my daily routine and focused on the moments that brought me joy, when my mind and pen were stuck completely I would focus on my lists. A gratitude list is definitely the best place to start. Long to do lists generally stress me out. I intentionally keep the list to 5 and under so I avoid overwhelm. 3-5 is a perfect number, you will feel accomplished once to tick your list off everyday. Writing about your daily routine is good too. It helps and is invaluable when you need to remember what happened on a specific date.

A hobby list is another one that can boost your mood, thinking of things you enjoy and look forward to is good for the soul.Once you get in the habit of writing daily it gets easier to move to the deeper topics that you need clarity on.

Challenge Yourself To Write Down Your Dreams and Goals

“The greatest danger for most is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is TOO LOW and we reach it” Michelangelo

As it is a bright new year it is a perfect time to turn over a new leaf and pick up that pen and paper and just start writing.

Your goals need to be SMART, as in specific, measurable, attainable, revenant and timely.

Once you make up your mind to changing and stepping into your new life you are already half way there.

The first thing I recommend is write down every detail about your dream life. You might want to include some photos in your journal or even do a vision board. I like creating mine on Pinterest and in my journal. It helps to have them instantly accessible when travelling.

What are your core values? It helps to write out what you absolutely need in your life to be happy and what you will not compromise on.

Family, Love, Success, Happiness, Community, Nature, Stability, Creativity, Adventure, Fun and , Meaningful Work & Financial Freedom for example are a few you can possibly focus on. Happiness is the key to success in life. Choosing a career you love makes life so much more enjoyable.

I hope this blog post helps you begin this beautiful self care ritual that can literally turn your life around in under a year. Just try it… you have nothing to lose and oh so much to gain.

xoxo Lisa
